Have lived in North Carolina since attending NC State University. How I ended up here remains a mystery to me (!?!), and I still think of myself as a New Yorker.  Studied Forestry and Wildlife Biology with focus on birds. Retired after 34 years as Nature Educator with Raleigh Parks, where I set up nature and adventure programs, and then NC Museum of Natural Sciences where I was Coordinator of the Naturalist Center. Adjunct at NCSU for 25 years teaching Outdoor Recreation Management and Park Interpretation, and also leading wildlife students on Tropical Ecology excursions to a coffee plantation in Nicaragua. How I ended up being a Science Educator? I credit Br. Jerry Cuyler , our chemistry teacher at St. Marys.

Still involved with bird banding projects and leading nature-focused field trips, but finding I now prefer travel, time spent with friends, and chasing grasshoppers with the grandkids. Mary Beth and I have been married for 27 years; we share three kids, and four grandkids here in Raleigh. So far it’s been a pretty good life.

Looking forward to seeing y’all at our 50th!

Though I lean toward the artistic and visual world there was no encouragement of that in my Catholic education. After graduation I was literally "enthusiastic" to discover my natural talents in Design and Planning. The Math, Science and English, beat into me by our beloved Brothers at St.Mary's/and sisters at St.Aidans, did surprisingly help me in my chosen field...and though not a studious pupil in Grammar or High School..... I'm very grateful for that solid foundation. Profession: Landscape Architect/Land Planner and Development Consultant Married: Sally Druckenmiller 1976 (Professional Land Surveyor); met at College Family: 4 daughters and 1 son; 4 grandchildren
